The American rapper was a local celebrity known in Detroit and environs. He was a member of the Detroit-based rap group S treet L ordz. And they even regarded him as the hottest rapper in the area from the S treet L ordz family. Just like rappers such as Eminem, I cewood rose to fame through performing in the underground Detroit rap scene. He made his music career debut as a local rapper with the S treetlordz group. Icewood later became involved with some gang rivalry which eventually led to his untimely demise.

The rapper was born Darnell Quincy Lindsay on March 14, , and was raised on the east side of Detroit near a 7-mile road and evergreen.

He attended Southfield high school when he moved to Southfield in his teenage years. The group later changed their name to Chedda Boyz which generated conflict between the groups with another rap group called Eastside Chedda B oyz. In an interview concerning the origin of the name, I cewood explained in a slow, deliberate Midwest drawl in which he referred to h imself as the original street Lordz C hedda boy. The gunmen broke into his house and shot him with 7 rounds from an AK assault rifle.

He started using a wheelchair when he became paralyzed from the chest down. There were speculations the shooting which led to his paralysis was related to another.

They say it happened just a few days before he was shot. It was outside a candy bar, a Woodward avenue nightclub, and a rival E astside rapper, W ipeout was left dead. Blade Icewood was shot on April 19, while at a car wash on a 7-mile road and Faust on the west side of Detroit in gang-related violence. Ironically, a year before he was shot dead, he hosted a no n vio lence rally. It was at a location that was a m ile away from his death point. It was also not far from where he was born and raised.

There were speculations that Icewood knew the gunmen who broke into his house. But an officer stated Icewood had refused to assist investigators in his shooting. They founded the record label in honor of the fallen Detroit rapper. It will help to keep his legacies alive. Conflict over the name Chedda Boyz began after the formation of the rap group the Eastside Chedda Boyz. He was hit with 7 rounds from an AK assault rifle after gunmen broke into his house.

Following the shooting, an officer stated that Icewood had refused to assist investigators in his shooting. He was left paralyzed from the chest down, and using a wheelchair. Two days prior to his own shooting, a shooting outside of Candy Bar, a Woodward Avenue nightclub, left Wipeout, a rival Eastside Detroit rapper, dead. Many speculated the shootings were related. A diss song called "Ride On Me", which became an underground Detroit classic, suggests that Icewood knew the assailants.

A gunman pulled up alongside Icewood's Range Rover and fired 17 rounds into the passenger's side, killing Icewood. The location he was shot at was nearly a mile away from where he had hosted a nonviolence rally a year prior to his death. After Blade's death, the family of the rapper founded Icewood Entertainment , a record label in honor of the fallen Detroit artist.
